All-Electric RAM 1500 Project Halted

    [Autohome News] Recently, it has been reported that due to lower-than-expected demand for full-size all-electric pickup trucks in the North American market, Stellantis Group has decided to halt the development of the all-electric RAM 1500. However, the company will continue to develop a range-extended version of the RAM 1500, which will be named the RAM 1500 REV. This model will be equipped with a 3.6L V6 engine serving as the range extender.  

    The concept of the all-electric RAM 1500 was unveiled at the 2023 New York Auto Show. The vehicle was originally scheduled to enter production in the fourth quarter of 2024, with deliveries beginning in 2025. It was planned to feature a dual-motor system with a combined maximum power output of 663 horsepower and a peak torque of 841 N·m, capable of accelerating from 0 to 96 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. The battery was expected to offer two capacity options: 168 kWh and 229 kWh, providing ranges of 563 km and 805 km, respectively. Additionally, it would support 800V fast charging.  

    Official images of the RAM 1500 REV (range-extended version) had been released earlier, though it was initially named the RAM 1500 CHARGER (while the all-electric version was named REV at the time). This model will utilize a 3.6L V6 engine as the range extender, with a maximum power output of 174 horsepower. It will also feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and a 92 kWh battery pack, delivering a combined power output of 672 horsepower and a comprehensive range of 1,110 km. (Text/Autohome Guo Chen)
