[Autohome News] Recently, BMW officially previewed that the all-electric BMW M3 (including the entire all-electric M family) will be based on the Neue Klasse platform, elevating the driving experience to unprecedented new heights and integrating the dynamic performance of the racetrack into daily use.
Simultaneously, the new vehicle will feature an 800V high-voltage architecture, enabling longer range, faster charging, and efficient energy recovery, making the new car a companion for everyday life. Based on a forward-looking central control domain and electronic architecture, four high-performance "super brain" computers assist the new car in achieving automated driving assistance, infotainment, and more.
The new car will be equipped with a drive motor for each wheel to achieve optimal traction. The four-motor system combines the advantages of rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, enhancing the experience on both road and track. Furthermore, the new car can also operate in a purely rear-wheel-drive mode to ensure greater range. A simulated gear-shifting mode is also introduced in the new vehicle.
The new car is equipped with a 100kWh battery pack. The sixth-generation cylindrical cells offer lower internal resistance and higher power density, and it will be an M-specific battery pack. On the environmental front, the new car incorporates Bcomp's natural fiber materials, ensuring strength and lightweight properties while achieving a 40% reduction in carbon emissions.
