[Autohome New Car Debut] During the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, the 2026 BYD Seagull made a low-key appearance. At first glance, the car comes with two major highlights. The first is an upgraded driving range — the maximum range has been increased from the current 405 km to 505 km. The second is the option to equip LiDAR. In addition, there are numerous detail refinements, but the manufacturer did not release full specifications on site. We'll have to wait and see.

The overall silhouette of the new Seagull remains largely unchanged. The show car wears a newly added red paint finish and rolls on brand-new 16-inch alloy wheels, while the tire spec remains 175/55 R16. On the roof, we can see a newly added LiDAR unit; this model will come with the God's Eye B driver-assistance system. The same camera components as the current Freedom Edition can be found on the front fenders, and a small blue light is positioned at the rear. It's also worth noting that the wipers have been upgraded from a single arm to a dual-wiper setup.

The cabin architecture stays essentially the same as the outgoing model, with tweaks confined to the details. For instance, the steering wheel buttons have been simplified, and the smart-driving version gains a dedicated smart driving paddle. The buttons on the center console are now finished in a matching interior color, wireless fast charging has been upped to 50W, the cupholder count has been reduced to one, and a center armrest box with a flip-up lid has been added.

Beyond these configuration changes, previously published regulatory filings reveal that the electric motor's maximum output has been raised to 60 kW, and the CLTC range of the high-spec variant has been extended from 405 km to 505 km. (Text/Autohome Chen Hao)
