[Autohome News] In accordance with the requirements of the *Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automotive Products* and the *Measures for the Implementation of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automotive Products*, FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR). The company has decided to recall the following vehicles:

Recall Batches:

  • Starting from May 18, 2026, a total of 647 imported e-tron vehicles manufactured between August 7, 2019, and October 21, 2021, will be recalled.
  • Starting from May 18, 2026, a total of 2,122 domestically produced e-tron vehicles manufactured between July 6, 2020, and June 20, 2023, will be recalled.

Reason for Recall:
For some vehicles within this recall scope, due to manufacturing deviations, the threaded connection of the push rod between the brake pedal and the brake booster may become loose, resulting in increased brake pedal travel. In extreme cases, the bolted connection could completely detach, affecting braking performance and posing a safety hazard.

Solution:
FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. will authorize Audi dealers to inspect the threaded connection of the brake booster push rod for vehicles within the recall scope and tighten the thread torque to the specified value. If the threaded connection of the push rod is already fully disengaged, a new brake booster will be replaced to eliminate the safety hazard.

This recall is an expansion of the recall campaign announced on September 14, 2024, titled “FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. Recalls Certain Imported Audi e-tron Series Vehicles.”

FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. will notify vehicle owners via registered mail and SMS. Authorized Audi dealers will proactively contact relevant users to arrange free recall repairs according to the plan. Owners can call the FAW-Volkswagen Audi customer service hotline at 400-817-1666 for detailed information regarding this recall. Additionally, owners may visit the SAMR Defect Product Administration Center website at www.samrdprc.org.cn or follow its official WeChat account (SAMRDPRC) for more information and to report defect clues.
