[Autohome News] Recently, China's National Energy Administration announced that by the end of December 2025, the number of electric vehicle charging facilities in China reached 20.092 million, breaking through the 20 million mark. The country has now built the world's largest EV charging network, capable of supporting the charging needs of over 40 million new energy vehicles. Among these, public charging facilities (points) account for 4.717 million, while private charging facilities (points) number 15.375 million.

The National Energy Administration highlighted that the development of charging infrastructure has seen qualitative improvements and upgrades, showcasing three significant characteristics. The scale growth has continuously accelerated, taking only 18 months to increase from 10 million to 20 million facilities—a substantial shortening of the previous cycle for each ten-million increment. Charging efficiency has improved markedly, with the average single-point charging power at public stations nationwide reaching 46.5 kilowatts, a 33% year-on-year increase. The coverage of facilities has become more extensive, with over 98% of highway service areas nationwide equipped with a total of 71,500 charging piles, and 19 provinces achieving "full coverage of charging facilities in every township."
