[Auto Home – New Car Debut] On April 13, Geely unveiled the Xingyue L i-HEV and Xingrui i-HEV. The new models are equipped with Geely’s latest i-HEV intelligent dual‑hybrid technology, the world’s first hybrid system powered by the Xingrui AI Cloud Power 2.0. According to official figures, WLTC fuel consumption can be as low as 3.98L/100km (for the Xingrui i-HEV).

The exterior design largely follows that of the current petrol models, though the Xingyue L i-HEV appears to feature a new body colour with a champagne‑gold effect. It also adopts a new wheel design – a grey‑and‑silver combination that carries a distinctly new‑energy flavour.

Inside, the Xingyue L i-HEV features a high‑saturation orange cabin with a dual screen setup and a three‑spoke steering wheel. It is expected to run the Flyme Auto infotainment system, integrated with the Deepseek large model and supporting HUAWEI HiCar / Carlink smartphone connectivity. Higher‑trim models will also offer a HUD head‑up display, heated/ventilated/massage front seats, and rear seat backrest angle adjustment.

The newly launched Geely i-HEV Intelligent Hybrid technology is built on the GEEA 3.0 electronic and electrical architecture and the Xingrui AI Cloud Power 2.0. The engine achieves a thermal efficiency of 48.41% – the highest among mass‑produced engines globally – and fuel consumption is 12% lower than the global benchmark. The electric drive delivers 230 kW, with 0‑30km/h acceleration in 1.84 seconds, offering a pronounced EV‑like driving feel. The system also incorporates a power redundancy safety patent and the Shield Battery system, has passed 15,000 hours of bench durability testing, and shares its technology with the Thunderstone hybrid system that has been installed in over 1.15 million vehicles – proving its reliability.

According to Geely, the i-HEV Intelligent Hybrid has received seven authoritative certifications. It has passed the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute (CAERI) extreme durability test and the 18° offset three‑barrier crash test, received the CATARC (China Automotive Technology & Research Center) certifications for HEV AI intelligence and highest thermal efficiency among mass‑produced engines, broken the low‑fuel consumption Guinness World Record around Hainan Island, achieved IP68 battery protection, and meets new national safety standards ahead of schedule. Both the Xingrui and Xingyue L i-HEV have earned the world’s first “Level 1 Energy Efficiency” certification for HEVs – multiple authoritative recognitions that fully validate the technology and quality.

Geely officially stated that i-HEV technology will first be mass‑produced on the China Star series, achieving full HEV and intelligent electrification across the line. For context, the i-HEV Intelligent Hybrid offers three powertrain combinations: 1.5L / 1.5TD / 2.0TD hybrid‑dedicated engines paired with an 11‑in‑1 hybrid‑dedicated electric drive. It will first be available on models such as the Xingrui, Xingyue L, Emgrand, and Boyue, meeting diverse user needs.

In terms of fuel consumption, the Xingrui i-HEV Intelligent Hybrid achieves WLTC fuel consumption of just 3.98L/100km, while the Xingyue L i-HEV Intelligent Hybrid achieves 4.75L/100km. Going forward, Geely’s China Star series will fully adopt i-HEV Intelligent Hybrid technology, entering a new era of intelligent electrification across the range.
