[Autohome News] Recently, Fangchengbao officially announced that the Fangchengbao 8 will receive its seventh OTA upgrade. This upgrade applies to both the Fangchengbao 8 Flash Charge Edition and the Standard Edition. The specific functions available for activation may vary depending on the vehicle configuration; please refer to the specific upgrade information in this article for details. This OTA adds 8 new functions, including several drone-related features such as drone real-name authentication, Periscope Mode, and Panorama Shooting Mode, significantly enhancing the user experience and functionality of the onboard drone.
Currently, domestic laws require drone users to undergo real-name authentication. The Fangchengbao 8 adds a drone authentication function to help users complete certification faster to comply with national drone flight requirements. It also prevents unauthenticated drones from flying, avoiding potential fines.
The second new function allows for one-click control of the drone to capture multiple aerial shots, which are automatically synthesized into a panoramic photo. This is very practical for users to share the magnificent scenery of their journey and is worth a try.
The third new function is controlling the drone for time-lapse photography. Users can choose from three modes: Free Time-Lapse, Directional Time-Lapse, and Trajectory Time-Lapse. The drone will automatically take photos during flight and generate a time-lapse video, making it convenient for users to save and share.
The fourth new function is the manual control of the roof drone hatch mode. Users can manually remove the drone from the compartment, facilitating inspection of the drone or replacement of accessories.
The fifth new function is Periscope Mode. When enabled, the drone flies to a hover position 1.2 meters above the compartment, allowing the user to quickly switch to Free Mode to control the drone. This function is named because it works like a periscope, making it convenient for users to scout the route ahead.
The sixth new function is the Drone Status Bar, which allows for quick switching between the vehicle-mounted drone mode and the off-vehicle mode. This facilitates rapid switching for users between controlling the drone via the car and controlling it via a mobile phone.
The Fangchengbao 8 Flash Charge Edition is equipped with the DiSus-P Ultra smart chassis technology, featuring the capability to independently control the travel of each wheel. This OTA upgrade brings the “Three-Legged Stand” function, which can lift a faulty wheel (e.g., one with insufficient tire pressure), preventing tire damage caused by driving with a flat tire.
The last new function is Courtyard Mode. After turning on this function, users can set a courtyard location. When the vehicle is located within the courtyard, it will not respond to seamless unlocking or the Welcome Mode. This is a very practical configuration for users who park their cars in their own yards. This function is available on all Fangchengbao 8 models.
