[Auto Home – News] Recently, we learned from industry sources that the all-new all-electric BMW M3 is expected to begin production in March 2027, with only a single version available at launch. It will feature BMW's M eDrive high-performance electric drive system with a quad-motor setup. The front axle is expected to deliver a peak output of 480 kW (653 hp) and 540 N·m of torque, while the rear axle is projected to produce 560 kW (762 hp) and 1,020 N·m of torque, with a combined maximum output potentially exceeding 1,000 kW.
Based on previous information, the all-new electric M3 will adopt a high-voltage battery exceeding 100 kWh and will be built on an 800‑volt architecture. The sixth‑generation cylindrical battery cells, optimized for M models' high‑performance demands, are expected to deliver superior power delivery and charging efficiency. The battery housing will also serve as an integral part of the body structure, connected to the front and rear axles to enhance overall rigidity and dynamic performance. Additionally, the vehicle will feature an M Dynamic Performance Control system working in tandem with the BMW Driving Brain (HoJ) to manage cornering entry/exit, heavy braking, acceleration, and traction variations near the limit, all executed via faster software responses and motor responses.
For the exterior and interior, reference can be made to the BMW M Neue Klasse Concept unveiled in June. The front fascia retains the classic "shark nose" design, while the new lighting module adopts a "Digital Angel Wings" design with M‑exclusive yellow lighting elements. Notably, the body incorporates extensive natural fiber materials, including the front lip, hood air ducts, and rear diffuser.
Inside, the new car is equipped with four newly developed one‑piece racing bucket seats, accented with Bathurst Blue and Wild Berry Red Merino leather, paired with red five‑point harnesses to maximize the cockpit's racing atmosphere. Additionally, the vehicle debuts high‑quality black Nubuck suede trim covering the steering wheel, door panels, and roll cage areas. The floating instrument panel is wrapped in black knit fabric, embedding BMW M‑exclusive hexagonal backlit ambient lighting.
