[Autohome News] A few days ago, we learned from ARCFOX officials that the new ARCFOX Alpha S5 will begin pre-sales on March 1st. The new model features innovations in both exterior and interior design, introducing a 256-color panoramic skylight ambient light, zero-gravity sporty cloud comfort seats, and a 19-speaker audio system for the entire vehicle.
In terms of exterior design, the new ARCFOX Alpha S5 adopts the "Wind Sculpture Aesthetics" design philosophy. The front bumper has been redesigned, and the externally visible active grille adds a sense of technology and sporty tension. The elongated headlights remain a key highlight of the vehicle. Regarding dimensions, its length, width, and height are 4820 (4886) mm / 1930 mm / 1480 mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2900 mm.
The rear of the vehicle continues to feature a distinctive through-type taillight design. The retractable rear spoiler also contributes to its dynamic appearance. For the first time, this new model adds small blue intelligent driving indicator lights on both the front and rear. Late last year, the ARCFOX Alpha S (L3 version) officially obtained approval for autonomous driving product access from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is anticipated that this update will also bring new developments in the assisted driving domain. Additionally, a new Phantom Green exterior color has been added to this new model.
Inside, the new ARCFOX Alpha S5 maintains a minimalist design style while adding a new Cinnamon Brown interior color scheme. Based on the integrated sporty cloud comfort seats, it now offers a zero-gravity passenger seat with an integrated leg rest. The interior also features the newly added 256-color panoramic skylight ambient light. The 19-speaker sound system, combined with a dedicated sky channel speaker, aims to create a more comfortable and enjoyable in-cabin experience.
Regarding powertrain, combined with previously submitted information from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the new ARCFOX Alpha S5 is expected to include an extended-range version. According to the official announcement, the new Alpha S5 will come standard with CATL batteries. The 1.5L extended-range version boasts a peak power output of 200 kW and offers a pure electric range of 175 kilometers. For the pure electric versions, referencing the current models on sale, both single-motor and dual-motor configurations are available. The former has a maximum power of 252 hp and a peak torque of 320 N·m; the latter features front and rear motors with a combined maximum power of 530 hp and a total torque of 690 N·m.
